We are a group of musicians based in Northamptonshire, by the River Nene.

The River Nene flows from Arbury Hill, in Northamptonshire, to the Wash. It’s banks are rich in bird and other wild life, with kingfishers, warblers, and herons commonly seen, in addition to water fowl.
We perform in small venues, mainly churches, raising money for those churches on occasion, and have a varied repertoire including opera, lieder, and musical theatre with our singers, and we include instrumental music as well. We do not expect to make money – we are good amateurs – but use ticket money to pay for venue hire, music, and sundry other expenses.

Our next venture is to stage an opera in Oundle Parish Church. We will be performing Dialogues of the Carmelites by Francis Poulenc, on April 11th at 19:30 and 12th at 16:00 2025.
This work is set in Paris at the time of the French Revolution, and concerns a group of nuns whose mission is prayer. Their faith is tested by the Revolutionary Mob, and refusing to renounce it, they are executed, one by one, at the end of the opera. The music is evocative and sensitive, romantic in places, and beautifully crafted to lead to the dramatic ending of the opera.
Lunchtime Concert: 13:00 at The Free Church, St Ives, Hunts.

A varied programme with songs by Schumann, Brahms, Richard Strauss, Ivor Novello, Vaughan-Williams, and others.
